The proposal is to expand the Hangingstone to increase the SAGD production capacity to 13,038 m3/d (82,000 bpd). The location of the project is approximately 20 km southeast of Fort McMurray within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. The EIA was deemed complete in 2011. The Tree Species Adaptation Risk Management project was initiated in 2012 with the aim of generating data, scientific-based inferences and recommendations that enable the Alberta government to adopt provincial policies that integrate climate change adaptation into seed and clonal transfer guidelines for reforestation in Crown land. This executive summary describes in general terms, the activities and outcomes of each subproject implemented as part of the overall three year project. Unlike the annual progress reports, this final project report is written in a format that facilitates easy public access and knowledge dissemination.

The Tree Species Adaptation Risk Management project was initiated in 2012 with the aim of generating data, scientific-based inferences and recommendations that enable the Alberta government to adopt provincial policies that integrate climate change adaptation into seed and clonal transfer guidelines for reforestation in Crown land. This report is the first in a series of reports and journal articles which will be produced from the project. It covers projections of future climates for selected climatic variables for the entire province and individual tree breeding program regions, also called Controlled Parentage Programs (CPP) regions. These projections will be integrated with the ongoing analysis on biological data and CPP-based climate change risk analysis to address questions on transfer of wild seed among seed zones; transferability of orchard seed and clones among CPP regions; and reconfiguring seed orchards and deciduous species clonal production programs to address future...

The main objectives of this project were to summarize information and develop tools to aid the development of seed-transfer guidelines for reforestation practices under climate change. Genetic analysis of controlled parentage program (CPP) trial data and climatic summaries have been synthesized to develop holistic summaries of the white spruce (Picea glauca) and lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta) CPP programs in Alberta.

The objectives of the 2014 investigation and monitoring program were to: Evaluate the potential for vapour migration in residences in the area; Assess exposure and risk to residents in the vicinity through direct measurement of indoor air; Investigate the effects of seasonality on potential vapour intrusion, soil vapour concentrations and presents of NAPL; Evaluate if attenuation and if possible biodegradation is occurring between the source and residents; and where possible, delineate the extent of NAPL in the vicinity of monitoring well MW10-6 and further characterize soil and groundwater conditions in this area.
