Description

The Committee on Collaboration and Innovation was established in March 2002 as part of the Alberta Government’s response to the Premier’s Advisory Council on Health Report. Its mandate was to help transform the way health regions provide services and how the government and regions collaborate to provide those services. This report presents the findings of the Committee and makes recommendations in five areas: roles and responsibilities for the Government of Alberta and health authorities; multi-year performance contracts; facilitating collaboration among health regions and developing new models of care; establishing centres of specialization; and contracting with a blend of providers.
