This dataset provides the number of program completions in Alberta's publicly-funded post-secondary system by field of study and by academic year, from 2004/05 to 2013/14. Program completions are instances where students complete an approved credential program (certificates, diplomas, and degrees). Field of study is reported using CIP (Classification of Institutional Programs) 2011 Code values assigned to each program or specialization. CIP is used to classify like programs based on the instructional content of the program or specialization.

This Alberta Official Statistic describes the Full Load Equivalent (FLE) by each institution and academic year within Alberta's Publicly Funded Post-Secondary Education System. FLE is a measure used so that we can make comparable calculations across different institutions, across different programs. The FLE is measured by taking the load of the student enrolled (instructional hours + practicum hours) and dividing by the full load of that program. This results in a comparable metric to be able to use across the system. The FLE calculation is consistent for every institution and program.

This Alberta Official Statistic describes the Unique Student measure in relation to the number of students attending an approved program at a publicly funded post-secondary institution. The values in each row are related to the unique students at that level, and adding multiple values may lead to double counting students in multiple rows. This dataset will show the Unique Student measure by each institution and sector by Academic Year. Sectors are broken down into six categories of publicly funded post-secondary institutions in Alberta as defined in legislation: (1) Comprehensive Academic and Research Institutions, (2) Baccalaureate and Applied Studies Institutions, (3) Comprehensive Community Institutions, (4) Polytechnical Institutions, (5) Independent Academic Institutions, and (6) Specialized Arts and Culture Institutions.

The Program Completion values are related to instances where students complete an approved credential program (Certificates, Diplomas and Degrees) within Alberta's publicly funded post-secondary system. This dataset provides the breakdown of these program completions by sector and institution. Full Load Equivalent (FLE) is a measure used so that we can make comparable calculations across different institutions, across different programs. The FLE is measured by taking the load of the student enrolled (instructional hours + practicum hours) and dividing by the full load of that program. This results in a comparable metric to be able to use across the system. The FLE calculation is consistent for every institution and program. CIP codes are used to classify like programs based on the instructional content of the program/specializations. This dataset will show the FLE measure by each 2 digit CIP code by Academic Year.

The labour force characteristics presented on are full-time employment and part-time employment, unemployment, not in the labour force, unemployment rate, participation rate, and employment rate.
