From February 16 to March 15, 2024, the Government of Alberta solicited feedback from stakeholders in the private career college sector to better understand how private career colleges interact with organizations and post-secondary institutions, how the successes of private career colleges can be built upon, and what can be done to address the rising instances of non-compliance.

In July 2022, the Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship Education Act came into force and established the role of the Registrar. The Registrar has a number of statutory accountabilities related to managing apprenticeship education programs and industry training programs, registering apprentices, and issuing credentials. The purpose of this document is to provide system partners with an overview of some of the key activities of the Registrar in the 2022-23 fiscal year.

This report presents the findings of the survey of 2019/2020 academic year graduates from credit parchment programs from publicly-funded post-secondary institutions, excluding the Banff Centre.
