This poster and accompanying teachers' guide are relevant to the Grade 6 Science curriculum, and highlight the natural forest ecosystem and how humans make use of the forest to meet many diverse needs. Through the activities outlined in the teachers' guide, students will discover some of the native and non-native trees in their immediate environment.

Le présent document contient des idées et des modèles dont peuvent se servir les élèves, les enseignants et les parents pour créer un Profil de l’apprenant durant le processus de planification des transitions. Le Profil de l’apprenant est conçu pour aider les élèves, les parents et les enseignants à recueillir et à organiser l’information qui leur permettra d’élaborer un profil personnalisé de l’élève à partager avec les enseignants éventuels. Les renseignements et les idées que renferme ce profil aideront les enseignants futurs à mieux reconnaître les forces, les besoins et les difficultés de l’élève en matière d’apprentissage. Les enseignants seront donc mieux équipés pour miser sur les réussites des élèves, d’une année à l’autre.

This world-class facility provides 35 kilometres of well-maintained cross-country ski trails for skate and classic skiing, a biathlon range, and a luge track. The centre can be enjoyed in spring, summer and fall as well. Forested trails offer opportunities for hiking and mountain biking; there are breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains and foothills from Athabasca Lookout viewpoint; and the centre also serves as a group use area during camping season. Athabasca Lookout Nordic Centre is 20 kilometres north of Hinton – follow Highway 16 west to the Grande Cache turnoff then follow Highway 40 north for 14 kilometres to Athabasca Tower Road.

Each year, many students apply for post-secondary education in Alberta. Each institution assesses the applications they receive and issues letters of acceptance to those students meeting their requirements. However, not every individual who receives an acceptance letter chooses to study at the institution issuing the acceptance. The primary objective of this study was to determine what factors play the largest role in determining whether a qualified applicant would choose to attend a post-secondary institution in Alberta.

Since 1998, the Government of Alberta and post-secondary institutions have collaborated to conduct a biannual survey of graduates to assess outcomes such as graduate satisfaction, achievement of personal goals, employment status and compensation. This report presents the findings of the survey of the class of 2005-2006 and investigates graduates’ satisfaction with their post‐secondary educational experience and their employment outcomes approximately two years after graduation.

Since 1998, the Government of Alberta and post-secondary institutions have collaborated to conduct a biannual survey of graduates to assess outcomes such as graduate satisfaction, achievement of personal goals, employment status and compensation. This report presents the findings of the survey of the class of 2005-2006 as it relates to transfer graduates – those graduates who transferred credits from one program to another at some point during their post-secondary education.

Inventory research, starting in 1999 and continuing through 2007, has been carried out on the moths of eleven major study areas in south‐central Alberta. With the exception of a semi‐urban site in Erskine, all sites were in areas where the vegetation had been relatively undisturbed. Realizing that about 95% of the Aspen Parkland has been disturbed by agriculture or other activities, and some of the remainder will soon be disturbed, the purpose of the research was to document the native moth biodiversity while there was still time to do so.
