In August 2017, the Government of Alberta Decontamination Protocol was introduced as a management strategy to reduce the spread of whirling disease and other aquatic invasive species and fish diseases. In 2018 Alberta Environment and Parks began work to expand the decontamination protocols to include industrial operations working in or near water in Alberta. A draft policy and tracking template were developed. This record contains the draft documents and background materials provided to elicit informed public feedback through an online survey and public information sessions during the Fall of 2018.
