Outlines the best practices for compiling, verifying and analyzing precipitation chemistry laboratory results. The practices outlined in this handbook have been adopted from the Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) manual for the GAW Precipitation Chemistry Programme. This guidance document should be used to prepare data for submission into Alberta's Ambient Air Quality Data Warehouse and the NatChem database.

This Guideline was developed to ensure consistency in the interpretation of the use of ambient air quality objectives within Alberta’s industrial air management system. It outlines the process for: the implementation of new or revised ambient air quality objectives; interpreting and acting on modelled concentrations in relation to ambient air quality objectives; setting additional individual industrial site monitoring; and specifying a procedure for calculating ambient concentrations over different averaging times.
