This annual report provides a high-level overview of four notifiable sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections: chlamydia, gonorrhea, HIV, and infectious syphilis. Focus is placed on examining counts and rates of for the current year within the context of previous years and Alberta Health Services Zones.

Description

From April to December 2021, there were 36 deaths of children, youth and young adults receiving services from the ministry of Children's Services. The Minister of Children's Services directed the ministry to carry out a review of the cases to gain an understanding of the circumstances surrounding these deaths, to help identify improvements that could be made to better serve children, youth and families. This publication reports on the findings of three separate reviews undertaken by the ministry, and actions that will be taken by the ministry in light of these findings.
