This regulation prescribes members for the Provincial Police Advisory Board and sets out requirements for members of policing committees, including the members that may be appointed by the Minister. The regulation also sets out reporting requirements for police commissions regarding reporting membership changes to the Minister.

This regulation deals with the duties and functions of the Provincial Police Advisory Board and municipal and regional policing committees. It defines a Metis community for the purposes of membership in the Provincial Police Advisory Board and defines regional governance zones for the purposes of regional policing committees. The regulation also sets limits on the number of appointees for municipal police commissions and provides a transitional clause to allow time for commissions to reduce the size of the commission to the prescribed number.

This Regulation sets standards and procedures for obtaining operator's licenses, as well as providing a classification of licenses and the requirements for each type of license and provisions for their renewal, expiry, and suspension. The Regulation additionally provides for the registration of vehicles, providing classifications and outlining permitted uses for each class of vehicle. Related to the registration of vehicles, the Regulation provides rules for types, conditions, and uses of license plates. The Regulation additionally outlines the authority of the Registrar of Motor Vehicle Services with respect to licensing and registration, and provides for a number of fees related to licensing and registration.

The roles and duties of the Chief Provincial Veterinarian (CPV) of Alberta and inspectors are outlined. The Act requires an owner of an animal or authorized person to advise the CPV of suspected or confirmed reportable and notifiable diseases within 24 hours.
