The purpose of this document is to provide jurisdictional clarity when pipeline applications, specific to oil and gas, are received by a regulator. This guide does not provide information on pipelines used to transport other material such as water or wastewater or pipelines associated with rural gas utilities.

Sets out the code of conduct to be followed by members of a regional plan review panel. Under the Land Stewardship Act, a a person who is directly and adversely affected by a regional plan or an amendment to a regional plan may request a review of the regional plan or amendment. When a request is received, a panel is established to conduct a review and report the results to the Stewardship Minister.

Description

Section 19.2 of the Alberta Land Stewardship Act, SA 2009, A-26.8, as amended, and sections 5-11 of the Alberta Land Stewardship Regulation, AR 179/2011, establish the statutory requirements for requesting and conducting a review of a regional plan. The review of a regional plan must be conducted by a Panel. Section 10(1) of the Alberta Land Stewardship Regulation permits the Stewardship Minister to establish rules respecting the conduct of a review by a Panel.
