The Alberta Petrochemicals Incentive Program provides financial incentives in the form of grants to encourage private sector investment in new or expanded Alberta-based petrochemical manufacturing facilities, including those producing value-added, petrochemical, hydrogen, fertilizer and fuel products.

This quantification protocol is written for the oil and gas industry where methane that is normally vented is capture and either conserved or combusted to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The protocol provides a methodology to quantify the greenhouse gas emission reductions from capturing vented methane. Since methane has a much higher global warming potential than carbon dioxide this protocol has the potential to enable project developers to achieve significant reductions and generate emission offsets.
