Description

The Wapiti River Water Management Plan Steering Committee was established in 2012 to develop recommendations for water use in the Wapiti River basin. The steering committee engaged with the public, stakeholders and Indigenous communities and organizations and developed a draft version of a managagement plan which would provide guidance and recommendations on balancing the needs of municipal water supply, industry uses, agriculture and other uses, while ensuring a healthy aquatic ecosystem in the Alberta portion of the Wapiti River basin. Feedback was solicited by releasing this draft plan and summary documents in this record for public review.
