These bulletins are created to provide health care professionals with clarification and guidance in understanding the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) and to keep them apprised of updates and changes to the Plan. Bulletin numbering reflects the AHCIP services to which the bulletin pertains. Bulletins in this record refer to dental services covered by AHCIP. New bulletins are released as required. Please be aware that information in older bulletins may be superseded by more recent bulletins.

This document is established pursuant to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Benefits Regulation. The provisions within this schedule are subject to, and should be read together with, the relevant provisions of the Alberta Health Care Insurance Act and regulations, including the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Benefits Regulation, the Claims for Benefits Regulation and the Alberta Health Care Insurance Regulation. If there is an inconsistency or conflict between the provisions of this Schedule and the provisions of the Alberta Health Care Insurance Act and regulations, the latter prevails. Rates for anesthetic services listed in the schedule are claimable by physicians and are not claimable by oral and maxillofacial surgeons or dentists.
