The Alberta Superintendent of Insurance regulates, in part, the insurance business in Alberta under the Insurance Act. The Superintendent issues bulletins and notices, which are mostly directed to insurance companies licensed to operate in Alberta. They will also be of interest to health care practitioners. Submission of Patient Care Report (PCR) data by ambulance operators to Alberta Health is a legislative requirement. The Alberta Ambulance Information Management System (AAIMS) provides an electronic mechanism for submission of PCRs. The purpose of these guidelines is to provide ambulance operators with an overview of the process from the submission/uploading of the file, to the retrieval and correction of processing results, and the data and technical requirements for creating batch submissions of PCRs and data records.

Description

The guide is intended to be used as a best practices reference document for safety around conveyor systems. It is directed mainly to workers, technicians, supervisors, joint health and safety committee members and other interested parties. This guide is composed of two sections. Section I provides definitions, a general idea of conveyor components, an overview of mechanical hazards and information about hazard assessment and reduction. Section II covers safeguards against hazards during operation and maintenance of conveyor systems, and related worker training. Appendices provide details on guard design, applicable Alberta legislation, conveyor safety checklists, inspection guidelines and an overview of conveyor-related accidents in Alberta.
