Pour vous détenir dans un hôpital en vertu d’un certificat d’admission délivré conformément à la Loi sur la santé mentale, un médecin doit vous examiner et déterminer que les trois critères de certification sont satisfaits. Si un certificat d’admission est délivré, l’établissement a le pouvoir de vous donner des soins, vous mettre en observation, vous examiner, vous évaluer, vous traiter, vous détenir et vous contrôler afin de déterminer si vous devriez être admis officiellement.
