Information contained in the data set includes: Date, Shelter Name, Total Approved Beds, Number of Beds funded by SCSS, Number of Beds funded by SCSS for Winter Emergency Response, Daily Occupancy.

Provincial electoral divisions are territorial units represented by an elected Member to serve in the Alberta Provincial Legislative Assembly. The provincial electoral divisions used in this information product were enacted in December 2017 and will come into effect for the 2019 provincial general election.

To build research capacity in the areas of housing and homelessness, Alberta Human Services facilitated a partnership between the Alberta Interagency Council on Homelessness and Alberta Centre for Child, Family and Community Research to develop a provincial housing and homelessness research strategy. The resulting research strategy was meant to generate and mobilize evidence to inform priorities, decisions and recommendations relevant to A Plan for Alberta: Ending Homelessness in 10 Years. It included a research agenda and an implementation framework.
