Alberta Treasury Board and Finance engaged LifeWorks to prepare a detailed analysis of the costs, benefits and structure of a potential Alberta Pension Plan (APP). The analysis includes actuarial, economic, legal, and technical information regarding the establishment and ongoing operation of an APP. This analysis gives a clearer picture on what a future provincial pension plan might look like and helps answer questions that Albertans are asking about the costs and benefits of such a move.

On November 9, 2019, Premier Jason Kenney announced the launch of the Fair Deal Panel to consult Albertans on how to define and secure a fair deal for Alberta. The panel was also asked to look at how to advance the province's economic interests, such as the construction of pipelines. This report is an account of what the panel heard and learned from consulting with Albertans on what a fair deal in Confederation looks like for Alberta. The report also includes recommendations for actions Alberta can take to secure that fair treatment.

Presents a high-level proposal for reforms to the public sector pension system, including: the Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP), the Public Service Pension Plan (PSPP), the Management Employees Pension Plan (MEPP) and the Special Forces Pension Plan (SFPP). Together these plans cover public sector employees across the province and have roughly 200,000 active members and over 120,000 retirees and deferred retirees.
