Provincial electoral divisions are territorial units represented by an elected Member to serve in the Alberta Provincial Legislative Assembly.

Description

The purpose of this paper is to initiate discussion on the process of policy articulation by the members of the Interdepartmental Task Force on Demographic Policy and the Advisory Committee of Deputy Ministers. Since the task of these two groups is to assist in the development of a population policy for Alberta, the focus of this paper will be the process of articulating population policy. Subsequent to the federal government's communication to the provinces of its intention to develop a national demographic policy, the Department of Advanced Education and Manpower was given the responsibility for the coordination of the development of demographic or population policy alternatives from the province of Alberta.
