Description

This Children and Family Services dataset provides an overview of the number of children and youth receiving post-intervention supports through Transition to Adulthood Program (TAP) Agreements, by sex. TAP Agreements are available to young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 who were involved with child intervention services to help support them in fully reaching their independence. Support is most often financial, but may also include community supports along with the assistance of a caseworker.   The data shows the average monthly number of young adults in the province who are receiving post-intervention support through a TAP Agreement. More specifically, it shows the number by sex with historical information dating back ten years.   TAP was implemented in the 2022-2023 fiscal year, and fully replaces Support and Financial Assistance Agreements (SFAA). Post-18 Intervention caseload statistics include both TAP and SFAA depending on the fiscal year selected.  ...

This Children and Family Services dataset provides an overview of the number of children and youth receiving child intervention services by type of care and Indigenous status (Indigenous and Non-Indigenous). Child intervention services are focused on the well-being of children, supporting families to be healthy and ensuring children grow up in safe and nurturing homes.   The data shows the average monthly number of Indigenous and non-Indigenous children and youth in the province who are receiving child intervention services. More specifically, it shows the number in temporary care, permanent care and receiving services while at home (not in care) with historical information dating back ten years.   Information is available through the links listed below as aggregate data in excel, as visualizations in CI Interactive Data Tool and as descriptions of data fields and elements in the Data Dictionary.

This data set reflects child care programs in Alberta licensed under the Child Care Licensing Act (prior to February 2021) and under the Early Learning and Child Care Act (February 2021 and after).   Data prior to February 2021 included reflects child care programs in Alberta licensed under the Child Care Licensing Act. Program types under the Child Care Licensing Act included day care programs, out-of-school care programs, preschool programs, group family child care, family day homes (approved by a licensed family day home agency), and innovative child care programs.   In February 2021, child care licensing changed from program-based to facility-based under the Early Learning and Child Care Act. The Alberta Recreation Survey is a series of surveys that have been conducted approximately every four years since 1981. The survey collects information related to participation patterns of Albertans and the factors which influence their recreation activity choices. The following questions have consistently been included in each survey: participation by household members and respondents in an extensive array of social, creative, cultural, recreation, outdoor and sport activities; respondents' three favourite activities and reasons for participation in their first favourite activity; an activity respondents would like to start and the reasons for not starting the activity, involvement as a volunteer; opinions on recreation and parks activities and services and demographic information about the respondents and their households.
