Forest company forest management plans (FMPs) detail when, where and how timber on Alberta Crown land will be managed in order to balance social, economic and environmental needs based on input from the public, Indigenous peoples and interest groups. The forest management planning area under consideration is FMA 9900037. The FMP covers Forest Management Unit G15 located in west central Alberta within the Upper Peace Land-Use Framework planning region; it falls within the Subalpine, Upper Foothills, Lower Foothills and Central Mixedwood and Dry Mixedwood Natural Subregions.

Environmental Impact Assessment and associated applications pertaining to the proposed Total E&P Canada Ltd. (formerly Deer Creek Energy Limited) Joslyn North Mine Project. The oil sands surface mine and bitumen extraction facilities proposes to produce 100,000 barrels per day of bitumen. The location is approximately 70 km north of Fort McMurray within the Municipality of Wood Buffalo. The EIA was deemed complete in 2008. In 1987 a detailed inventory of NOx sources was completed for the province, as part of the Acid Deposition Research Project (ADRP). This project included identification of the source and technology, location, and estimation of emissions. In 1988, Informational Letter 88-5 (IL 88-5) was jointly issued by the Energy Resources Conservation Board (now the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board) and Alberta Environment. For the first time in Alberta, this document required the use of low NOx technology for reciprocating engines. In December 1992 the CCME issued the National Emission Guidelines for Stationary Combustion Turbines, which applied to new turbine engines. It is desired that the penetration of the technologies prescribed in these Guidelines and other low NOx technologies be determined for Alberta.
