The annual report of the ministry of Indigenous Relations contains financial information of the ministry and a comparison of actual performance results to desired results set out in the ministry business plan, which was published as part of the previous year's budget. The report also includes financial statements for the entities making up the ministry and for which the minister is responsible.

This guide provides details on the administrative steps, submission standards, and requirements of the consultation process for regulatory activities processed through the Electronic Disposition System (EDS). The Proponent Guide is published and managed by the Aboriginal Consultation Office (ACO). First released in September 2014, the guide was revised in February of 2015. The June 2016 release marks the second major update to the Proponent Guide.

The purpose of this Policy is to identify consistent approach to consultation that will be applied by Alberta Government departments involved in Land Management and Resource Development decisions. This Policy is intended to define Alberta's role in the consultation process and to set out Alberta's expectations of First Nations and Industry.

Description

The Aboriginal Policy Framework sets out the basic structure for existing and new Government of Alberta policies to address First Nation, Métis and other Aboriginal issues in Alberta. The Framework's two goals address improving socio-economic opportunities for Aboriginal peoples and communities and clarifying roles and responsibilities of federal, provincial and Aboriginal governments and communities. For each goal, the Framework lays out principles and commitments to action and calls for Government of Alberta Ministries to address Aboriginal issues in their business plans and report progress in their annual reports. The Framework addresses the treaty and constitutional rights of Aboriginal people and all Albertans with respect to the use of public lands.
