This discussion paper is intended to assist the Governments of Alberta and British Columbia, and their partners, in responding to the issue of labour and skill shortages. This document provides background information on mature workers in Alberta and British Columbia and actions employers and governments can consider for increasing opportunities for mature workers to participate in the workforce. This document updates the August 2007 publication by updating statistics and adding further information on key initiatives related to mature workers.
