Presents the findings and recommendations report of the Alberta Human Trafficking Task Force. The task force was established in May 2020 to provide guidance and recommendations on supports for survivors of human trafficking, and to enhance collaboration among all stakeholders and organizations that work with survivors in order to prevent, protect and ensure their safety. The task force engaged experts to identify what actions are needed to bring transformational and sustainable change and to help government implement its nine-point action plan to combat human trafficking.

These best practices represent the best practice as identified by the provinces and territories through consensus, using the Association of Boards of Certification Program Standards, 2007 as a starting point. The purpose of the best practices is to provide greater program and administrative guidance to jurisdictions and to strive for greater harmonization of program requirements across Canada.

Description

In 2012, Canada and Alberta launched a Joint Oil Sands Monitoring (JOSM) to improve, consolidate and integrate existing disparate monitoring arrangements into a single, transparent government-led approach with a strong scientific base. A Joint Canada-Alberta Implementation Plan for Oil Sands Monitoring was developed, describing a phased and adaptive approach to monitoring in the oil sands region to be undertaken over three years (2012-2015). Included in the Plan was a call for an external expert peer review plan after Year Three. This report presents the findings of the expert review panel.
