Provides direction for the ongoing safety and operational concerns of infrastructure associated with rural gas utilities and low-pressure distribution pipelines under the Gas Distribution Act. The document recognizes the AUC's jurisdiction under the Gas Utilities Act, specifically in areas where there is a potential for overlapping or conflicting direction provided by the legislation and/or Chief Officer under the Gas Distribution Act and Alberta Utilities Commission under the Gas Utilities Act.

The Qualified Wetland Science Practitioner (QWSP) program and standards will help ensure that professionals are appropriately trained and equipped to assist applicants in progressing through all stages of the wetland application process under the Alberta Wetland Policy. Requirements and practice standards for the QWSP designation are currently under development. In the meantime, an interim program has been established.
