Description

The Marketing of Agricultural Products Act provides the framework for agricultural marketing boards and commissions. The Act establishes the Alberta Agricultural Products Marketing Council as the agency to supervise the establishment and operation of agricultural marketing boards and commissions. Within the parameters of the legislation, each agricultural marketing board or commission is governed by a set of regulations. The Act provides the framework to facilitate federal-provincial agreements and the delegation of authority. The Act also establishes an Appeal Tribunal which hears appeals of persons affected by the decisions of agricultural marketing boards and commissions.
