The annual report of the ministry of Mental Health and Addiction contains financial information of the ministry and a comparison of actual performance results to desired results set out in the ministry business plan, which was published as part of the previous year's budget. The report also includes financial statements for the entities making up the ministry and for which the minister is responsible.

Description

GAP-MAP was designed to inform Alberta's Addiction and Mental Health Strategy. Generally, the approach of most governments to developing strategic priorities has emphasized consultations, discussions, and priority-setting exercises. The approach taken in GAP-MAP was to demonstrate the value of a planning approach that emphasizes evidence-informed discussions about priorities. To this end, the project has attempted to produce a detailed, comprehensive, and systematic description of provincially funded addiction and mental health services in relation to population need. Results from the project are intended to lay the groundwork for building a population-based model for addiction and mental health service planning in Alberta.
