In November 2015 the Government of Alberta introduced the Climate Leadership Plan to reduce carbon emissions. These reports provide an update on the actions taken and progress made towards achieving the goals set out in the plan. Progress reports outline how the province will measure, evaluate and report on progress made on reducing greenhouse gas emissions as well as other important outcomes.

Alberta's Climate Change Advisory Panel was established in the summer of 2015 to guide a climate leadership discussion process, to gather public and stakeholder input and advice in the development of government action plan to address climate change. The discussions included public open houses, an online engagement, online document submission, Aboriginal People's engagement and technical stakeholder sessions. This document the range of comments received at three Aboriginal engagement sessions held in Calgary, Edmonton, and Fort McMurray from September 1 to 14, 2015.

Alberta's Climate Change Advisory Panel was established in the summer of 2015 to guide a climate leadership discussion process, to gather public and stakeholder input and advice in the development of government action plan to address climate change. The discussions included public open houses, an online engagement, online document submission, Aboriginal People's engagement and technical stakeholder sessions. This document summarizes comments received at 10 technical stakeholder engagement sessions on eight topics, held in Edmonton and Calgary from August 28th to October 6th, 2015.

A dyke failure on the Obed Mountain Mine site in the Hinton region on October 31, 2013 caused the release of an estimated 670,000 cubic metres of process water and suspended sediment into the Apetowan and Plante Creeks. These creeks merge into the Athabasca River downstream of Hinton. A number of government departments and agencies have actively been involved in responding to this event. This preliminary report summarises the first week of analytical sample data collected by Environment and Sustainable Resource Development (ESRD) and analysed by both ESRD and Alberta Health Services. Current near real-time turbidity data is also included.

The purpose of this framework is to outline the approach Alberta will use to plan, coordinate, assess and implement flood mitigation projects on a watershed basis. The approach will reduce the risk of future flood events causing negative impacts on communities, the economy, and the environment. The approach will consider balancing water supply with water needs given the potential risk of drought. The approved mitigation projects will likely vary for each of the watersheds. Public and stakeholder consultation and cost/benefit analyses will be important components of projects that are brought forward.
