L'objectif de ce projet de quatre ans (2024-2028) est de fournir au Conseil scolaire Centre-Nord une nouvelle école et de nouveaux espaces communautaires plus grands, sur le terrain actuellement occupé par l'École Boréale. De plus, la province souhaite profiter de cette occasion pour améliorer la vitalité de la communauté francophone en ajoutant de plus grands espaces pour les services de garde d'enfants et des espaces multifonctionnels dans la nouvelle École Boréale.

The objective of this four-year project (2024-2028) is to provide new, larger school and community spaces to the Conseil scolaire Centre-Nord on the land currently occupied by École Boréale. In addition, the province wishes to use this opportunity to enhance the vitality of the Francophone community by adding larger childcare and multipurpose spaces in the new École Boréale.

Description

This report was prepared to assess whether the soil and air quality in Fort McMurray and surrounding areas met ecological and human health guidelines during the response to the Horse River Wildfire of 2016 and after clean-up of the debris and damage that remained. The first part of the report includes high-level summaries from literature reviews on the contaminants of potential concerns from wildfire smoke and ash and their impacts on soil and human health. The second part includes the identification of potential risks to human and ecological health from ash and soil in fire affected areas, a health risk assessment of potential ash migration into residential gardens, an overview of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo's remedial program, and a post-cleanup health risk assessment based on the post remedial soil sampling program results.
