The purpose of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of various mitigation projects, and combine the most feasible projects into water management plans for the Sheep River and Highwood River basins which suffered severe flood damages at numerous times in the past, most recently in June 2013, and assess flood mitigations for the South Saskatchewan River Basin, including the feasibility of various flood mitigation projects for the City of Medicine Hat.

This schedule sets out the water conservation objective flows for Sheep River upstream of Threepoint Creek confluence. The location identified in the schedule as the location to meet the objective is Water Survey of Canada Station No. 05BL014 (Sheep River at Black Diamond). Water conservation objectives set out the volume and quality of water to remain in rivers for the protection of a natural water body and its aquatic environment. They are flow targets under the first-in-time, first-in-right priority water allocation system and apply to all new licences and existing licences with a retrofit provision.
