Description

This dataset tracks the percentage of students who completed any credential program at an Alberta publicly funded post-secondary institution within the expected completion timeline (typical duration of the program plus an additional three years). This rate is calculated based on the number of completers and the total number of students in the starting cohort. It is determined at both the sector and institution levels for all students, including full-time students.

This statistic describes headcounts (unique learners) by institution and academic year within Alberta's publicly-funded post-secondary education system. Headcounts represent the number of students enrolled, and are unique to each level reported, therefore summing up multiple values to "combine" values may lead to double counting, as students can be counted in multiple rows. The data tables presented are related to enrolments in approved programs at publicly-funded post-secondary institutions within Alberta. Separate data files exist focusing on the system level, or for subsets that focus on either international or self-identified Indigenous learners.

The Alberta Recreation Survey is a series of surveys that have been conducted approximately every four years since 1981. The survey collects information related to participation patterns of Albertans and the factors which influence their recreation activity choices. The following questions have consistently been included in each survey: participation by household members and respondents in an extensive array of social, creative, cultural, recreation, outdoor and sport activities; respondents' three favourite activities and reasons for participation in their first favourite activity; an activity respondents would like to start and the reasons for not starting the activity, involvement as a volunteer; opinions on recreation and parks activities and services and demographic information about the respondents and their households. Local geographic area refers to 132 geographic areas created by Alberta Health (AH) and Alberta Health Services (AHS) based on census boundaries.
