This guide introduces Alberta's occupational health and safety laws and the role of a workplace supervisor in ensuring health and safety at the work site. It discusses provincial legislation related to occupational health and safety and describes the responsibilities of the worker, employer and the provincial government, as well as those of the supervisor, in ensuring a healthy and safe workplace. It also looks at non-compliance and explains what steps can be taken if supervisors or other work site parties don't comply with the law.

Presents results of a study aiming to explore the lived experiences of English language learning working women as they relate to health and safety. Study findings contribute to an evidence-based understanding of workplace psychosocial hazards to the wellbeing and health of English language learner women workers. The overall goal of the study was to consider how to mitigate and prevent harm caused by workplace psychosocial hazards and explore if there are workplace hazards that may disproportionately impact ELL women workers.

The study is based upon an online poll conducted between March 24 and April 5, 2017 on behalf of the researchers by a commercial polling company. The respondents comprised 2,000 Albertans engaged in paid employment in the previous 12 months.
