The funding manual assists school jurisdictions, charter schools, accredited funded private schools and private ECS operators in accessing and understanding Alberta Education funding. It provides details on the funding available for the school year and includes applicable formulas, funding rates, criteria and reporting requirements. Funding from Alberta Education supports the provision of approved education programs for students and children in Early Childhood Services (ECS) to Grade 12.

The project is funded under the Canada–Alberta Agreement on Minority-Language Education and Second Official-Language Instruction 2020-21 to 2022-23, which includes a commitment to improving francophone and French-language teacher recruitment and retention.

Core subjects for French Immersion kindergarten to Grade 9 and French as a Second Language (FSL) grades 4 to 9 resource packages will be classroom validated throughout the various development phases during the 2021-2022 school year and will be made available to all English-speaking school divisions that offer French Immersion and FSL Programs.
