Description

In response to a need identified by post-secondary education stakeholders for structure, guidance, and standardized processes for prior learning assessment and recognition (PLAR), Alberta Advanced Education and Technology (AET) released Advancing PLAR in Alberta: an Action Plan in October 2008 (hereafter referred to as the PLAR Action Plan). With the intention of initiating and setting the stage for the implementation of the action plan, the PLAR manager met with key stakeholders in Alberta’s publicly funded post-secondary institutions to conduct an informal environmental scan.
