This re-entry plan for Early Childhood Services to Grade 12 (ECS-12) is part of the Alberta government's relaunch strategy that was announced on April 30, 2020. It considers three scenarios that could exist when the 2020-2021 school year begins in September. The Minister of Education announced on July 21 that schools will welcome students under scenario 1 — near-normal daily operations with health measures. Update: November 2020 diploma exams will be optional due to COVID-19. More information on diploma exams is available at https://www.alberta.ca/diploma-exams.aspx. Standards for Special Education, Amended June 2004 supports Alberta Learning's Business Plan goal to have high quality learning opportunities that ensure the learning system meets the needs of all learners and society.
