It describes the Act’s requirements, how to apply for a licence, and what is involved in the inspection and monitoring of service providers who provide residential addiction treatment services in Alberta. It also describes what to expect when a service provider is in non-compliance with the legislation and enforcement is required. The guide also includes tools, such as checklists and templates, to support service providers.

This program builds on the $10-million nurse practitioner demonstration projects that launched in 2016 to explore the increased use of nurse practitioners in primary health care. With the new support program, these demonstration projects will be brought into primary care networks.

The Notifiable Disease Report (NDR) Manual describes the roles and responsibilities of public health reporters and of Alberta Health in the systematic collection, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of data to appropriate stakeholders. It provides clarity on the notifiable disease reporting requirements for investigators. It also provides guidance for the completion of the Report of Notifiable Disease form, which is used to collect meaningful disease information in a manner that allows it to be easily analyzed, interpreted, and disseminated. Use of the NDR manual will help to ensure and maintain consistency in gathering information and interpretation of the form fields.
