Following a months-long inspection into the City of Chestermere’s finances, Deloitte Inc. released its final inspection report concerning the city's financial management. The report highlights significant gaps in the city’s financial management and found Chestermere’s finances to have been managed in an irregular, improper and improvident manner between October 18, 2021, and December 4, 2023.

The Indigenous Lake Monitoring Program (ILMP) was developed in response to Indigenous communities’ concerns about the quality of lakes of local importance as well as the Community-Based Monitoring & Knowledge teams’ mandate to explore opportunities to work together with Indigenous communities to advance environmental stewardship. The ILMP aims to support and enable stewardship and management of Alberta’s lakes based on the best available Indigenous and scientific knowledge. From 2016-21, staff from CBM&K, Watershed Sciences and Watershed Monitoring units within the Airshed & Watershed Stewardship Branch worked with community technicians from four First Nations (Bigstone Cree Nation, Cold Lake First Nations, Whitefish Lake First Nation, Dene Tha' First Nation) to collect and report on water chemistry, physical measurements, and biological samples on seven lakes in Northern Alberta. A review of Alberta’s emergency medical services dispatch system was conducted to identify opportunities to improve the system and provide recommendations on strategies to implement changes with the goal of improving patient outcomes. The review included a comparison of the Alberta Health Services dispatch model with nine comparable systems from other provinces and other countries, as well as internal and external stakeholder engagement. Alberta’s government will be accepting all recommendations and is working on a plan of action to carry them out.

Presents findings of a study conducted to assess the impact of providing a high-fidelity implementation of a specific model of structured peer support for individuals in four integrated fire and emergency medical services departments. Public safety personnel who had previously participated in peer support reported greater perceived peer support skills and greater perceived value of peer support than those with no previous peer support participation. The evidence for peer support appears promising for supporting the mental health of public safety personnel.
