The Premier attended the opening ceremony of COP21 alongside Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other participating Premiers, met with key international stakeholders, delivered remarks at several events, and signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with representatives from Air Liquide. Throughout the mission, the Premier demonstrated Alberta’s commitment to taking meaningful action on climate change and transitioning to a low carbon economy.

The Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (EPEA) requires any release of substances that could cause an adverse effect to the environment be reported to Alberta Environment and Parks. The Release Reporting Regulation sets out what must be reported, when, how and whom reports mast be made. Individual approvals and codes of practice may also have requirements for reporting contraventions of the terms and conditions of the approval or code of practice, monitoring results and sampling programs.
