It includes information to: assist drivers, managers, and owners of commercial vehicles in understanding safety laws and safe operating procedures; provide direction and information for new commercial drivers; assist carriers in developing, updating, and implementing safety and maintenance programs. It also includes resources and contact information for carriers operating in Alberta.`

Description

Alternative fuel systems such as electricity, compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), hydrogen, and hydrogen/diesel dual fuel, have heavier components than diesel engines and may exceed maximum legal weights. To encourage the broader use of these fuel types, Alberta Transportation is providing additional axle weight on these types of vehicles to offset the added weight of equipment.
