Description

This data set includes five years of historical enrolment by Full Load Equivalents (FLE) in Alberta post-secondary system and projected FLEs for a ten year projection horizon. The FLE is measured by taking the load of the learner enrolled (instructional hours + practicum hours) and dividing by the full load of that program. This results in a comparable metric to be able to use across the system. The FLE calculation is consistent for every institution and program. Alberta Advanced Education's (AE) projection model uses historical enrolment data and population projections from Alberta Treasury Board and Finance as inputs to the model.

Every two years, Advanced Education commissions a survey of post-secondary graduates in order to collect information that will inform strategic planning and results reporting regarding graduate demographics, satisfaction, financing of education, outcomes, and changes over time. The tables in this dataset contain the summary of responses to the survey of 2020-2021 academic year graduates from private vocational training institutions.

Description

Every two years, Advanced Education commissions a survey of post-secondary graduates in order to collect information that will inform strategic planning and results reporting regarding graduate demographics, satisfaction, financing of education, outcomes, and changes over time. The tables in this dataset contain the summary of responses to the survey of 2019/2020 academic year graduates from credit parchment programs from publicly-funded post-secondary institutions, excluding the Banff Centre.

Description

The set of statistics in these datasets describe the Full Load Equivalent (FLE) by each institution and academic year within Alberta's publicly funded post-secondary education system. FLE is a measure used to allow for comparable calculations across different institutions, across different programs. The FLE is measured by taking the load of the learner enrolled (instructional hours + practicum hours) and dividing by the full load of that program. The data tables presented are related to enrolments in approved programs at publicly-funded post-secondary institutions within Alberta. Separate data files exist focusing on the system level, or for subsets that focus on either international or self-identified Indigenous learners.

An estimate of out-of-province post-secondary enrollment is applied based on the numbers of funded Alberta students attending post-secondary institutions out of province.
