A municipal inspection of the City of Chestermere was conducted from May to September, 2022 at the request of the Government of Alberta, following complaints from Chestermere citizens and city employees. This ministerial order sets out binding directives issued by the Minister of the Municipal Affairs following the municipal inspection.

Lists the dollar amount of the provincial education requisition credit for Alberta municipalities. The Government of Alberta launched the Provincial Education Requisition Credit program in response to an economic downturn in the oil and gas industry which has caused hardship for municipalities across the province. The program provides municipalities with an education property tax credit equal to the uncollectable education property taxes on delinquent oil and gas properties, upon approval of a qualifying application.

Each year, each municipality must prepare and submit an annual Statistical Information Return (SIR), which must be signed by the Chief Administrative Officer, or duly authorized signing officer. The SIR is typically required to be submitted to Municipal Affairs by May 1 in each year. In 2017, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs transitioned to using a unique submission and starting in 2018 portions of the SIR form has been pre-populated using information from the previous year’s SIR.
