Description

The Community Housing program provides subsidized rental housing to low-income families, seniors, and individuals with special needs, as applicable, who cannot afford private sector accommodations. The Seniors Self-Contained program offers the subsidized rental housing to seniors with similar affordability concerns. Applicants to either program whose income falls below local income thresholds are eligible to apply. Updated annually, this document provides the local income limit for municipalities throughout Alberta.

This guide is for any organization that works with seniors as volunteers, staff, clients, residents or participants. This includes seniors’ centres and associations, community outreach and frontline service providers, and housing providers.

Each department of the Government of Alberta is required to have a publicly-accessible directory of personal information banks. A personal information bank is any resource which includes personal information. This list of personal information banks for Alberta Seniors and Housing lists: the name and location of the information bank; the type of personal information it contains; what categories of individuals the information pertains to; why the information was collected and how it is used or disclosed; and the legal authority for the collection of the information. A personal information bank does not provide direct access to an individual's records.
