Description

The Community Housing program provides subsidized rental housing to low-income families, seniors, and individuals with special needs, as applicable, who cannot afford private sector accommodations. The Seniors Self-Contained program offers the subsidized rental housing to seniors with similar affordability concerns. Applicants to either program whose income falls below local income thresholds are eligible to apply. Updated annually, this document provides the local income limit for municipalities throughout Alberta.

Volume I raises awareness about social isolation among seniors, introduces some useful concepts related to social innovation, and shows how social innovation can help to address social isolation in Canadian communities through examples. Volume II includes tools to help individuals and organizations develop lasting community partnerships to reduce the social isolation of seniors.
