Description

Monthly notice of the general rate of timber dues for timber that is used to make deciduous timber, including the portion of timber dues collected by the Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta (“FRIAA”). Timber dues and other fees associated with timber dispositions are collected by the province to ensure that Albertans receive fair compensation for the use of publicly-owned forest resources. The timber dues rates applied are based on current market and financial conditions are can be found in Table 3 of the Timber Dues Ministerial Order.

This report is one of a series of reports based on data collected from this study entitled the Irrigation District Water Quality project. The focus of this report is to examine the long-term patterns of pesticide presence in irrigation water of southern Alberta.

This Directive replaces those portions of the Alberta Forest Management Planning Standard, Annex 1, Appendix B not already superseded by Directives 2007-01 (Fire Salvage Planning and Operations) and 2014-01 (Assessing Damage from Disturbance to Regenerating Forest Stands in Cutblock Openings and Recovering Productivity).

Description

The Alberta Crop Report provides timely provincial and regional summaries of crop production in Alberta during the crop season, and is used by industry and other stakeholders for various purposes, including drought monitoring and forecasting of production insurance payments. The report is also used to validate some of the Alberta crop estimates generated by Statistics Canada. Data for the report is collected through regular surveys on moisture and crop conditions, progress of seeding and harvesting, insect and disease situation, yield potential and crop quality, etc., along with information from other sources. Alberta Agriculture and Forestry (AF) has delivered the Alberta Crop Reporting Program to clients since 1940.

The purpose of the Alberta Scaling Permitting Program is primarily to provide the ground rules under which the training and permitting of timber scalers shall occur in Alberta. Timber scaling is conducted for the purpose of providing harvest information to the department of Agriculture and Forestry, and must be done by a person holding a valid scaler's permit. In addition, a valid scaler's permit is also required for any person conducting check scaling on behalf of Agriculture and Forestry. This document defines the requirements for course instructors, course content and duration, obtaining and retaining a scalers permit, and examination procedures.
