Description

The Community Housing program provides subsidized rental housing to low-income families, seniors, and individuals with special needs, as applicable, who cannot afford private sector accommodations. The Seniors Self-Contained program offers the subsidized rental housing to seniors with similar affordability concerns. Applicants to either program whose income falls below local income thresholds are eligible to apply. Updated annually, this document provides the local income limit for municipalities throughout Alberta.

The guide is an educational resource to help senior-serving organizations increase awareness of LGBTQ2S+ seniors’ issues and needs and identify concrete actions organizations can take to be more inclusive and affirming. This guide is for any organization that works with seniors as volunteers, staff, clients, residents or participants. This includes seniors’ centres and associations, community outreach and frontline service providers, and housing providers.
