Canada celebrates this week every year to raise awareness of a citizen&#8217;s right to access public information. In the spirit of open government and transparency, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alberta.ca\/open-government-program.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alberta Open Government Portal<\/a> provides access to government data and information.<\/p>\n<p>An important part of <em>Right to Know Week<\/em> is <em>Right to Know Day<\/em>, which originated on September 28, 20002. <em>Right to Know Day<\/em> is a day dedicated to promoting freedom of information around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some <em>Right to Know<\/em> events happening locally, nationally, and internationally:<br \/>\nLocal: Edmonton &#8211; Right to Know <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oipc.ab.ca\/news-and-events\/events\/2018\/right-to-know-forum-edmonton.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Forum<\/a> &#8211; September 28, 2018<br \/>\nNational: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oic-ci.gc.ca\/rtk-dai-eng\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canada Celebrates Right to Know Week<\/a><br \/>\nInternational: Australia: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oaic.gov.au\/rtk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">It&#8217;s Your Right to Know<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Did you know that September 24-28 this year is Right to Know Week in Canada?
