Assessment report on nickel for developing ambient air quality objectives

Description

Ambient air quality objectives are established as part of the Alberta air quality management system. The purpose of this assessment report was to provide a review of scientific and technical information to assist in evaluating the basis and background for an ambient air quality objective for nickel. Metallic nickel is not commonly found in nature but nickel is found in many minerals. Nickel is used primarily in the manufacturing of stainless steel and other alloys due to its favourable properties of hardness, corrosion-resistance, heat-resistance and strength.
