Have you heard about Open Data 150? It’s a joint project between The Govlab and Canada’s Open Data Exchange. Open Data 150 is a mapping of Canadian companies that use open data to launch new products, enhance business processes, perform research and solve problems. The objective of this project is to understand how Canadian companies are using open data, and raise awareness of the possibilities that exist for Alberta and Canadian entrepreneurs to take advantage of the value of open data.

New Datasets + New Software = More Open Data

A recent development on the Alberta Open Government Portal is the inclusion of Ivation Tables (IVTs) along with some new datasets added to the portal. The format may be a new one for users of the Open Government Portal so here is a brief introduction as well as requirements for accessing IVTs.

The Child Care Dataset on the Open Government Portal is Ready for Viewing!

Updated quarterly, this information is for public viewing. By making this data available to everyone, we hope to foster greater understanding, trust and transparency about our work and services.
