Technical training providers provide apprentices with access to formal instruction based on curriculum guides established by industry. This curriculum guide describes competence statements and supporting competence statements for the training component of the electrician apprenticeship program.

In July 2022, the Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship Education Act came into force and established the role of the Registrar. The Registrar has a number of statutory accountabilities related to managing apprenticeship education programs and industry training programs, registering apprentices, and issuing credentials. The purpose of this document is to provide system partners with an overview of some of the key activities of the Registrar in the 2022-23 fiscal year.

Every 2 years graduates of apprenticeship programs are surveyed about their satisfaction with their program and their labour market experiences. This report covers findings for graduates of the 2020/21 academic year. Satisfaction with various aspects of the program such as on-the job learning, classroom instruction and interaction with Client Services staff are included as well as employment status, earnings and relatedness of employment to their apprenticeship program. This year apprentices in their first period of training were also surveyed about their experiences and satisfaction with their program.
