An existing management plan for the Canmore Nordic Centre is primarily descriptive and does not include detailed guidance on stakeholder relations or sport development and event hosting capacity, which have become important post-refurbishment considerations. Management and key stakeholders represented by the Canmore Nordic Centre Advisory Group recognized that formal direction and prioritization of these and other components was needed and embarked on a strategic planning process in 2009/2010. This strategic plan is the culmination of these efforts.
