Description

The Alberta is Calling: Moving Bonus Program is part of the Alberta is Calling campaign which aims to attract skilled trade workers to fill critical labour shortages. The Alberta is Calling: Moving Bonus is a refundable tax credit of $5,000 for up to 2,000 eligible individuals who move to Alberta between May 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024, work in an eligible occupation and meet all remaining criteria. These application guidelines provide program information and eligibility requirements.

The Aboriginal Business Investment Fund (ABIF) was established to provide funding to capitalize community-owned business development opportunities. The program offers direct investment into eligible Indigenous community-owned businesses. ABIF is intended for capital projects that are close to starting operations or breaking ground for building projects within the funding year. The projects must demonstrate long-term impacts as follows: increase the number of Indigenous community-owned businesses; increase the number of employment opportunities for Indigenous people; create local revenue streams for Indigenous communities; and strengthen the economies of Indigenous communities. An Indigenous community can only submit one application and business plan for consideration in any given funding year. Funding allocation is based on project evaluation against the scoring criteria and awarded on a competitive ranking.

These guidelines and supporting documentation will assist municipalities in applying for the Provincial Education Requisition Credit for uncollectable education property taxes on oil and gas properties and for the Designated Industrial Requisition Credit for any uncollectable Designated Industrial property tax requisition. The two programs were established to assist municipalities where taxes related to requisitioned amounts cannot be collected from property owners.
